From Monday 27th May to Friday 31st May it is Queensland Small Business week. This is a time when business owners in our region come together to celebrate their achievements in business – whether as a new business owner or someone who has been in business for a very long time!
There are over 400,000 small businesses in Queensland compared to just over 10,000 medium businesses and around 600 large businesses. Statistics show that small businesses employ more Queenslanders than medium and large businesses and from these a significant financial amount is put back in to our local communities.
On the 28th May at 5.30pm Gladstone Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be hosting a ‘Celebration of Business’ event at Yaralla. UHY Haines Norton are the proud sponsors of this event, which offers the chance to celebrate and network with other business owners. There will be goodie bags containing vouchers and discounts provided by small businesses as well as lucky door prizes to give away.
UHY Haines Norton will also be launching a brand new report at this event, providing insight in to our region’s business performance over the past few years. And Joe Rea, General Manager of Boyne Smelters, will be giving us a presentation on the subject of leadership.
This is an event that every local business owner should attend. More information is available on the GCCI and UHY Facebook pages.
As an employee of a small business as well as a small business owner myself, I believe that more recognition needs to be given to business owners for their dedication, hard work and overall contribution to the economic and social prosperity of our region. So please take this chance to promote your small business and others by attending this event and bring along any other business owners that you know!
If you would like a no obligations chat with us regarding your business, please call or email us at UHY Haines Norton on 4972 1300 or email info@uhyhncq.com.au and we can work with you to ensure you can celebrate business success long in to the future!
